As far as I know - come to us in the crushed lying peat.This is the case when it is planted. Usually come dried bulbs. And from Japan too, but not in the best condition.

Frank...I just thought about this. It's been quite a while since written materials were done about the propagation of hippeatrum bulbs. Are the commercial growers still using this chipping method now? It could very well be possible that they or some of them are using tissue culture now. I know Thailand and USA has propagated Hippeastrum bulbs through tissue culture already. What more with those big time commercial nurseries...right?
