I'm not that good at IDing flowers, but I have to agree that it's not a Blossom Peacock... you got a mislabeled bulb from MZ? Now, who would've thought...

Thanks Jodi, could anyone else try help me with an ID? Thanks much...

Sal, wish I was better at this. If it isn't in my collection and I can see it in person, I am just not good either at IDs. You need Soultan or Hans. They can ID anything!!! It sure is pretty...has a lotta dotted stripes.

I got the same flower from NGA marked as Chianti... It is not Chianti either, so I must take a picture and send it to NGA, and ask them to fix and explain.

Have you some measurements for the plant? size and number of blooms and height of scape. These are required for a positive ID. It is either as you say H.Double Record or possibly H. Rainbow

The bulb is about 25 cm circumference now, it has shrunk some since the scape emerged. So far just 1 scape. The stalk is about 14"(35.5cm) tall. There are 6 flowers on the scape. It's pretty but I have desired a Blossom Peacock for so long...Oh there is no fragrance either. Thanks guys.

The flower formation is like my Blossom peacock. The colouration in mine varies every year.

Soultan H. Chianti has a 7" bloom
Salpal Please give bloom dimension like diameter - I am almost 90% sure that you have H. Double Record from the dimensions given to date.

jetak, most of the blooms are about 5.5" across, and one is 6".

sapal Sorry about my delayed reply but I've been out of the country and now have just returned. From your pictures and description you do have a H. Double Record. Of course the only true positive ID can only be determined through DNA testing which tends to be a tad expensive.
Congrats on the purchase of such a beautiful hippie.
