I enjoy eating radish flowers. I enjoy the leaves too, but some types are too hairy.

Once flowering begins, it means the plant is getting too old or it has been stressed. In either case, the root quality is declining. Plant some more and eat sooner.Or eat the flowers and the seed pods. Paul.

Thanks for sharing that. This is our first year growing daikons too. We harvest the first plant a week ago and got the nicest tasting root I ate ever. But somehow we felt like we should have let it grow longer (it only weighed around 1 pound). Normally how big can it get without sacrifising the taste? I bought the seeds from local nursey and it simply labeled "oriental daikon'. Chang_song

Depends on the zone you're in. Temperatures will greatly affect the length of time you'll be able to continue growing the plant.

You may get better daikon by planting it late summer (August) for a fall crop.
