If you can walk under it and there are no dead or crossed branches, it looks great.

Wow! This is a great example of a tree that doesn't need anything done to it. (Except what lazygardens mentioned)

So many times we see trees that have been stripped of all their interior branches leaving tufts of foliage at the ends. Some folks call it 'thinning' but it's really 'lion's tailing' which actually causes branch failure because all the weight is at the branch tips.

No knowledgeable arborist or tree worker practices 'lion's tailing' so congratulate your landscaper - or yourself if you've been pruning your tree.

The rule of thumb for a trees trunk/canopy ratio is to have 1/3 trunk and 2/3 canopy. This keeps the tree balanced and healthy. Your tree is a good example of this.

Ok, off my soapbox now. Thanks for listening. Just too much poor pruning going on with trees around the valley.
