The seed parent (first photo) is dark red, the pollen donor an effervescent bright red double.

I was hoping that both these qualities might feature in the offspring, but the first result I've been waiting patiently for since 2011 shows a fairly unremarkable bright red. It is quite impressive in stature with a tall stem and large flowers, so is still a welcome addition. I have another dozen or so of this cross waiting to make their debut, so if there is anything that differs from this, I'll post the result.
