plant azalea now? or spring

Hi

I have 3 native arborscens azaleas that I purchased from Rare Find Nursery. They arrived about 2 weeks ago and they are pot bound.

Temps here have been low 60s daytime and mid 40s nighttime. I will be gone and cannot plant after 11/1.

Should I plant now? cutting off outer matting and quarter splaying them as directed in the catalogue?

Or should I sink them in the ground in their pots and wait until next May to plant them?

I was really wanting to get them planted before we leave but am concerned about the roots not establishing with the cold weather we have been having. 7 day forecast does not show an improvement in the weather.

What do you think?

ML
