I give you credit for trying a buffalo grass lawn in the low desert. They're more common in high desert areas like Alb. and Denver.

How much and often do you water it? Curious if it takes less water than tif lawns. I have a pot of buffalo growing in my backyard just for fun. Its color is not as deep green as my tif even though I fertilize both. I'm going to experiment with pots of zoysia varieties as well...

Rich - The UC Verde cultivar was tested in the low desert. It was looking good at 110 with 1/2 the water of Bermuda. It's a brighter, slightly bluer green than bermuda.

Way less water than any of the Bermudas, based on the watering guide from the U of A. I water every 10 days, delivering half the water that is recommended for Bermuda for the same time period. It's a 45-minute session, split into 3 15-min chunks to let the water soak in better.
