Decades ago in Midwest I learned how to "over-winter" geraniums, basically storing as bareroot plants in the basement during the long, cold winters...

I've never tried doing the opposite here in the PHX area with geraniums. Is it possible to perhaps store them over our long, hot summer? Was wondering if anyone has ever tried this and if so, any success?

Did google, but all the results were about the overwintering method.

(In 1996, while living here in AZ I tried an experiment to keep my geraniums at that time going year-round....not a success!)

Thanks in advance for any advice/thoughts on the matter. It's getting close to the time here at my place to get the geraniums out and summer flowers in.
