Banana Plant Spacing?

I have an ice cream banana plant and a Manzano plant coming.

How much space should I leave between them?

About 8 feet.

Most of mine are more than 8 feet apart but I have three that are 4-5 feet apart. My plan is to just let all three grow into each other if they want.This one consists two Basjoos on the outside and a Black Thai in the center.

According to this article you should have one growing to fruit, one half grown to replace the fruiting one and one sucker. Kind of three generations I guess is the point. How practical that is at home I don't know but it is my plan to follow that advice.
