I have never heard of a shade loving Banana although I wish there was, and is there frost by you, because most banana can only tolerate little to no frost. I'm not sure, try this site, it has a lot of bananas.

Sometimes banana plants are grown indoors under less than full sunlight, so maybe give it a try. I think the worse that may happen is the leaves may be weak looking and sort of floppy. I overwintered my banana in a north facing window with little sun, though, having said that, it was pretty well dormant and grew very little. Once spring hit it did get a few leaves, but I noticed they aren't as "strong" as ones grown in full sun. Maybe get some seeds and try to start from seed so you aren't out a bunch of money if your experiment doesn't go as planned.

I've read that the Yunnan banana (Musa itinerans, sometimes called Musa 'Yunnan', although I'm not sure they're the same thing) likes some shade. Also, I've found that Dwarf Cavendish will grow very happily indoors in locations that get no direct sun.
