OT: Rooting Pineapple Sage?????

I did not WS pineapple sage this year so I bought a nice healthy plant which I immediately broke the top out of on the way home..........ekkkkkkkk!

The part that broke off is the largest part of the plant. Is it possible to root this type of plant by placing in water or should I try placing it in soil and try to root it that way? Any one with experience on this please help. If I had a cloner I would try that, but I don't have one so my options are limited. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP.
