Where are you located? Ground temps need to be above 58F before growth starts. Also, mail order pups suffer stress from shipping, etc and might not show growth for a few weeks. What is the overall appearance of the banana; are the leaves still green?

thank you replying Steve I am located in coastal N.C. Cape hatteras well the one plant is green with droopy leaves and it new leaf is upright and half way open and the other is about the same with the existing leaves a little brown. they both have only three leaves after planting I sprea a little soil mixed with horse manure on top could this be a problem

I had a basjoo the same way so i potted it up and stuck it in the greenhouse it's growing great now.

Bananas love manure. Maybe they should be a little more established before giving them any more fert. My guess is still they are a little stressed. Sometimes, after I separate a pup from the mother and pot it up, it takes 3 weeks or so before it starts to show signs of new growth. During this stage, I keep it on the dry side. Good luck.

okay its been awile
the saba has only produced one leaf,that makes three. its all green but doing nothing. the apple started to grow slowly about 2 weeks ago it has produced about four leaves and all except the new flag has turned rusty brown. I water these plants almost everyday should i stop our water here is very hard.
