Dwarf Cavendish Last Summer

Hi, I just wanted to show you my 2 bananas which died last winter, it was November or December much before any snow :( They looked great in summer but went completely black in winter. I guess i have no chance of growing them in a 8b keeping them outside.. ?? however they grow so fast there comes a point when i can't bring them in the garage as they are too high. Any advice? should i buy new ones this summer or just give it up?
