I am humiliated. My Zinnias Died. I was not going to tell ANYONE but I need help so I don't do it again. They died just before Grant posted the beautiful pictures of his. I kept checking the post to see if anyone else had experienced any trouble with theirs. These came up fast and were growing. Then the following happened: 1. Leaves started looking thinner(almost translucent) At this time I found a few tiny green wiggles and removed them. 2. A few days later there were a small amount of what looked like spider webs on them. Just wiped them off with my thumb. 3. Next day more webs-wiped them off with a damp cloth. 4. A week later all Zinnias were completely enclosed in webs like a cocoon. Put spray nozzle on hose and blasted them.5. They died. What I read only referred to webworms in big trees so it may be something else. Should I do something to the soil before replanting? Did whatever it was go into the trash with the dead plants or are they still in the bed? Should I turn in my trowel?
