gardeners supplies sells a zip up pup tent type thing to protect garden plants against bugs. They also have tall units that I imagine could fit some shelves inside.

Acually the more I look at this the more I see possibilities... If it can be secured to the ground I could drape the ag fabric around the bottom to keep them out there. It is wider than my growing area but...I acually was ready to just call it quits on growing hippeastrum- I love making crosses and blooming them over the winter in my zone 4 climate but have had such devastation recently and don't want to further harm the good insects, I really thank you for this miss brilliant Kristi.

Thanks. A few years ago I made my own sort of custom contraption. I took PVC pipe and made a frame, and then handstitched screen all around the sides and the top. The front was sort of loose but then I weighed it down with bricks to secure the front flap to the ground so that nothing could crawl in or under. That's what I've done with my "pup tent" of screen, which is different than the one they are currently offering. I have buried the screen edges and access the pots through a zipper in the front. It's worked for me.

Yeah well I'll have to do something similar because I am realizing I really only have about 1 foot in that area. a 4 footer is just tooo big, darn it! How did you put in a zipper?

I didn't install the zipper, it came with the one I bought, but I bet you could use Velcro attached by a hot glue gun.
