put it definitely in the basement, check it from time to time to see if it needs water. There is no way it will live outside there.

I have two Banana plants in 16 inches pots on my porch. They were very little when I bought it and plant it and I don't know what kind. I did plant it for decoration. In two months they grew to 5 feet and they look beautiful. I have two questions:
1- Is it better for the plant to bury the pot in Garden soil?
2- When I take them inside the house in winter do they go dormant or I have to keep watering and feeding?

I know Banana is a tropical plant There is no winter in tropical weather so to speak. I know that they live well in Mediterranean weather too which is characterized by hot summer and warm winter.

I planted two Banana trees in Pots. They were about one foot tall. They grow the pots and I transferred them in 16 inches pots. Now they are about 5 feet tall and constantly producing new leaves. I did not know what kind of Banana are these. Finally I got some information from the Orchard that they called Yellow Banana.
My questions are:
How big these Banana can grow to?
Is Pot suitable for it, should I bury the pot in the Garden soil then pull it in winter and put it inside the house?
How many years it takes for these kind of Banana to produce flowers or fruit in Zone 7 if any?
My wife wants to put them in winter in the living room because they are very decorative can they stand the normal winter heat in the house?
