Garden Shots

Thought I post some pictures of my gardens this year. I'm pretty happy with them this year, but I find I'm WAY too heavy on yellows this year. I'll have to add more colors next year. Enjoy

Very nice, looks like Rudbeckia was a great germinator for you. I think it's all gorgeous. I love rudbeckias because the flowers last so long and are eye candy for a long time.

You were heavy on yellows, I was heavy on blues this year. I still catch myself drawn to blue flower seeds. I now have to make an effort to be aware of what I am doing in that regard and stop! Difficult to do at times.

I love, love, love your deck! Very pretty.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I haven't met a Rud I didn't love....I wish they flopped less, but they really are a super plant, and winter sow so easily!!!

I'm going to definitely be aware to add more pinks, blues and reds to balance out next year.

Thanks again for the kind words

You've done a lot of work in your yard and it looks like you are getting a great result from it. You must be enjoying that deck this year. :-)

That's how we love to see it - lush and full. Nice job!

The coleus is Kong - started from seed I got in trade. I do my coleus inside under lights.....its just the easiest plant to start from seed; you can really abuse it and it survives. The containers I got at a tag sale for 25 cents each, and the potting soil was probably recycled from winter sowing dud containers, so the 3 containers cost me under $2!!! Can't beat that!

I'll have lots of coleus seed to trade in a month or so. Not all come true, but you can end up with some gorgeous leaves and color combinations. The Kong did come true, so I'm pleased.

    Hi Deb,
Goodness! You have been busy and your gardens are lovely. Blue is so pretty with yellow so perhaps some Salvias or Veronicas worked in would compliment your yellows. Have an idea for your flopping Rudbeckias. Every time I get a flower catalog that offers $25 off if you spend $25 I order the plant ring/supports instead of plants. Have plenty of plants and seeds so I order the rings. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I can just see people driving by your home very slowly to see all the beauty you have created to share with everyone in your town.
