armenian cucumbers stunted growth

Sorry if I am hogging the forum about these darn cucumbers, but I have had a lot of baby (like string beans) cucumbers and only two have grown up to edible size. Do they need more water, less water, more sun, what?

I water once a day in the morning, they are under 30% shade cloth and I fertilize "once in a while." The plant itself is humongous, taking over my whole garden!!

I want cucumbers!

Maybe it is the shade cloth.

My cucumbers are full sun. I actually ripped out a couple of the vines because I had more cucumbers than I can eat!! AND they got huge. Really big.

It does get huge. You don't need any shade cloth. It can take the heat and sun. It. Needs to be pollinated so those "baby" ones are unpollinated. Dont worry you will or should get lots of cucumbers by August. It does take a while and you wonder if you will ever get anything, then before you know it, you' ve got way too many.

Ah! Now that is helpful! They are next to my tomatoes, which did need shade cloth, so they kinda got it too by default. I'll see if I can peel it back to give them more sun.
