It appears to be a sage. Which one, I can't tell. Has it bloomed?

It is planted all around the Houston's restaurant in Scottsdale and I really loved the way it looked. It didn't appear to have blooms.

every1, tomato means to say "Texas ranger." They're real common in the valley and they self- sow, so you may get a "volunteer" in your yard. I have several volunteers I let grow.

Rich, TX Ranger is just one of many sages; that's why I didn't venture to try and nail it down. I just can't tell by the leaves alone. There are a few very pretty ones on this list. http://www.horticultureunlimited.com/landscape-plants/tucson-shrubs.html

I used to have a couple of cloud sages that were totally decimated by some nasty little bug whose name I've now forgotten.

Hiya Joey and all, it's a Leucophyllum, which goes by several common names including desert sage, Chihuahuan sage, Texas rangers, etc., so everyone is really talking about the same plant, just with different names (which is why I always like to include botanical names to clarify confusion between common names). The Leucophyllum plants in front of Houston's get sheared a lot so they don't bloom as often as they would without the haircuts. I love Leucophyllum plants (they come in lots of species and hybrids and are easily available at any decent local nursery or Big Box home improvement store around the valley). Happy gardening!
