I doubt it. Bananas are not trees (they are plants) and their root systems, though potentially extensive, do not seem destructive. I have seen numerous houses in California with Bananas growing right next to the walls.

Banana roots are not strong enough to cause damage to foundation. They are more fleshy and soft than woody. I have bananas planted all along the West side of my house, right up against the foundation to improve their winter hardiness.
