Newly seperated pup

I have a 8 foot Zebrina banana that I seperated a pup from for the third time ( I killed the 1st 2 no roots!):( But anyway I dug down this time and made sure it had good roots.The pup is about 2 feet tall and I ended up only getting one root but alot of the mother corm also. I planted it in moist potting soil with alot of perilite mixed in and put it front of a south facing window in my house. My question is can it live with just one root and is it ok to get it started in my house instead of outside? I also dipped it in root horomone. Thanks

I am new to transplanting pups also but have had luck successfully transplanting a few. I would keep it in shade until it can recover.Keep it out of direct sun and keep soil moist.

....And keep it outside (warmth and humidity). Keep it in the shade or partial shade until it starts putting out a new leaf. You should be fine.

How big do you let your pups get before you seperate them from the mother plant? I have a pup that is about 6 inches tall, hopefully it will be big enough to seperate by fall.

The advice I have read on this forum is 1-1/2 ft tall before seperating.
