I don't think it was the snow.....I would have a bunch of dead bees
checked out for any disease or pest.

It doesn't mean if there is still honey around that they can't starve,
sometimes bees stay put, especially in a small hive with brood, bees
stay with the brood to keep warm and don't move.
Also, some honey gets really hard in winter, especially canola honey,
bees can't work this honey, if your bees are getting allot of this honey, take
it out and replace it with feeding sugar water in fall.
