Who else loves Albuquerque?

On my trip to Denver recently, my sister and I made Albuquerque our half-way point, to and fro.

I find that town attractive because it's not as snowy and cold as Denver, yet it doesn't have non-stop 100 plus temps like Phoenix. Even the summer nights are cool! There was a beautiful sycamore tree outside our hotel.

I can't remember its elevation, but I think it's short of a mile high.
It's fun to dream, isn't it??

I love the Southwest, and many people do for just those reasons. ABQ is a nice town.

I love ABQ AND Santa Fe, New Mexico (plus all of New Mexico, really). It's the reason I fell in love with the Southwest in the mid 1990's, and why I ended up moving here from Seattle in 2000. ABQ is a great town. Enjoy your travels! Happy gardening and happy touring! Be sure to hit Jackalope if possible for great pots and decor.

I have driven thru it a bunch of times and stayed overnight at hotels there and it seemed kind of grubby to me. I haven't been in most parts of it so maybe I just saw the bad parts.

OK, members. I realize Alb. may have a high crime rate, may be gang ridden, and doesn't even compete with big towns like Phoenix or Denver. But, it has a unique climate (moderate for an inland city.) That's what I was referring to.

I saw a crape myrtle blooming at a restaurant's yard. As you know, I love those trees.

It still gets snow which for me would ruin it as a climate to grow things. I love crape myrtles too. I am always tempted to try one but after the magnolia incident probably not.
