Octopus Agave is a popular common name for it.

Water it about every two weeks in the hot months and once a month at the most in the cooler weather.

Your "fero" in the picture that you posted on GermanStar's
"fero" entry almost looks like it was burned. Was there possibly a fire in your area in the past?

@ dlg421: In regard to the Fero, that is just corking; it's perfectly normal, if a tad unsightly.

dlg421, thanks for the water advice on my octopus. My fero does look like it was burned doesn't it. I don't think there was a fire. It seems like it is a really old cactus and is looking it's age.
GermanStar, another new term for me to add to my gardening vocabulary. I gonna sound like a real gardener.
