They are perfect for WS. Here's a pic of mine blooming in their WS container before I could get them planted last week. These are gazania sunshine mix. I'm in zone 5 so they should bloom earlier for you.

Thanks. I saw trudi's pictures, and some gazanias were in her garden, so I assumed she winter-planted them. I'll grow the Daybreak Petticoat mix -- they're shorter than some of the other varieties (about 8 inches tall) and I can use them as edging. They're beautiful cheerful flowers, aren't they? I love your stripey one in the lower right corner!

Those petticoat mix are really pretty. will be looking for those seeds this year. Maybe I will be able to get some from trades. I get most of my seeds from trading on the seed exchange site.

Do love gazanias, both short ones and the taller ones.

I've winter-sown gazania for several years. They WS wonderfully. I always do the Daybreak Pink Shades, and I love them. This past year I didn't sow any, and now I really wish I had!

Gazanias are fast becoming a favorite since I discovered they are perennial for me - I am going to do the Daybreak Petticoat this winter. Last year I did ones from Value Seed and had mixed results (the failure was on my part not the method). I am planning on using them in window boxes next year and in my succulent garden for the constant color....
