I'm pretty sure I remember you posting in the spring about getting the hives. I'm glad you've been successful. Honey color and flavor will vary depending on what's blooming.
Straining really doesn't get much easier than using one of the double stainless steel strainers that all of the beehouses offer. You simply place it over a 5 gal bucket under the extractor,open the gate on the extractor, and it's filtered as it goes in the bucket.

We strain through 1) large tea strainer, then 2) panty hose, from there to bucket. And get the cheap panty hose, dollar store type. Works fine.
