A wax moth problem can be a sign of other problems in the hive. A strong hive will remove the young moth larvae. If you have a hive that is weak, or has more territory than the bees can defend, wax moths can be a problem. I had one weak hive that became infested last year. They started out below the screened bottom board. By the time I caught them they were going on their 3rd frame in the hive. I put the good frames in a clean hive body and added three frames of bees and brood from other hives to give them a boost. That hive is doing well this year.
