We're heaving extra bonus day's and that's good for the bees and us!
I was watching them too, they were still in my sunflower patch.
Besides pollen, they are licking off the honey super, just finished extracting today.
Ahh...finger licking good! LOL

Hello.
I'm new to this particular forum (I usually hang around in Compost). When hummingbirds left I didn't take down the feeder right away and saw that honeybees liked the sugar water too. So I made it easier for them and set out a little dish of sugar water with some stones for them to stand on. They really seemed to enjoy it, especially since there were few blooms around that late in the year (early November). Interestingly enough, the sugar water only attracted the honeybees, the solitary bees still preferred the late zinnia blooms...(although as you can see from the pic there was one very persistent yellow jacket at the picnic!)

Kiddo I'm afraid our bees out here will not be out any time soon.It's-25 and getting colder with snow and blowing snow.Looking forward to spring to see how well they wintered.Took a quick peek at The honey bee sanctuary and it looks quite interesting. Have a Happy New year.
