Hi Gary, I'm in orlando, One of the plants that always brings beas for me is" forget-me-nots" in my area beas love those plants, the other one is "hissop"

Bees in my yard LOVE the Bergamot plant just added and they also the love the native dune or beach sunflower which I use as groundcover and blooms all year. Both are inexpensive plants.

I don't know what will grow in Florida, but here, the bees love catmint!

They also like lavender, spearmint, bee balm (monarda), salvia, dandelions, purple hyacinths, cosmos, apple and plum trees, coneflowers, butterfly bushes (these seem to make yellow jackets happy/less cranky) and sunflowers.

If you go to the nursery/plant stores in the morning (when it's not so busy) you may see some of the bees hovering around their favorite flowers :)

Yes, catnip is an all around excellent plant to have in your yard and/or garden. The bees absolutely love it, it is believed to repel many harmful insects (aphids, squash bugs, japanese beetles, roaches, etc, although I've never seen any definitive proof of that) as well as larger vermin like mice.
