It is fascinating whenever the blue color is brought (excuse the pun) to light. I have many pictures of "blue" begonias. I would swear to it that it was a flash phenomenon, but Begoniac has said that the blue is in the leaves and visible even under natural light. Well, it is in a way but I think it has to be very bright light (think full sun).

Anyway, love your pics. What is the last picture of? Looks like a twisted 'Bunchii'.

you know, i have no clue what the last one is. i think it's an 'Erythrophylla' sport of some sort. the leaves are thicker, more succulent then 'Bunchii,' but those leaf margins really do look lettuce-like. some leaves have double sinus curls.

i guess if you look at the leaves in some begonias in a certain light, you can see a velvety sheen, but i've never seen the intense blue shade unless it's under a camera flash. i remember begoniac's post of ross boswell's picture for "bitabloo" (or whatever the image name was). that was the first time i saw that, and it really is nice. too bad there isn't a begonia that reflects that light all the time!
