Palermo is dark but is it as dark as... ?

I think I can pass these additions although Melfi is a serious temptation.

Well, you'll probably all think I'm crazy but I'm not that enamoured with any of these newer offerings except possibly Palermo, do you think that is the dark mini red that everyone's been salivating about? I think Kahlua is prettier than Melfi. I'm waiting for Tiramisu to reappear and I guess I'd buy another Mocca/Cappuccino if offered but I think I'll pass for now, guess I'm just getting fussy in my old age.âºâºâºDonna

The shape of Palermo isn't that attractive to me... (not a mini trumpet) and remember the scape was dark purple!! IT'S NOT THE DARK MINI NEAR-BLACK (No 1500)!

Did they ever offer "Striped Panther"?
Was this precious hybrid "discontinued" from commercial production? I think that there IS a market for it, provided they advertize "upto 8 FRAGRANT florets"

Good to see, they DO offer "Misty".
Good to see, they offer "Benfica" (Jumbo Bulbs)
Sad to see, they show "Pink Floyd" on their Front Page,
but they do not offer it.
Sad to see, but this was to be expected, that the novelty "Cirque de Soleil" is now "temporarily unavailable"

    Greetings Hans-Werner,

Yes, âÂÂStriped Pantherâ is âÂÂout of production.â The same fate befell âÂÂPink Floyd.â According to my records, Royal Colors last offered âÂÂStriped Pantherâ in 2007; their remaining âÂÂPink Floydâ bulbs were sold in 2009. Over the years, I have been able to keep both of these lovely trumpets alive and producing nice leaves. However, I am sad to say that they rarely bless me with blooms.

    Kind regards,

    Blanca

Misty and Benfica are still widely available from various sources. I was under the impression that the pink trumpet on the front page would not be Pink Floyd but fail to recall which one it is. Anyway, they had it listed a while ago.

    Hi Lena,

You may be thinking of another trumpet named 'Estella.' However, the photo on the Royal Colors web site home page is definitely 'Pink Floyd.' The link below may be helpful for comparison.

    Cheers,

    Blanca

    Hei Lena:

Since 'Melfi' tempted you, I thought that you might like to see a photo of mine in bloom. Melfi's flowers have subtle, unique beauty.

    Best,

    Blanca

Your photo of Melfi really brings out her beauty, thank you so much Blanca. Yes, I would definitely love to have Melfi, have to contact RC immediately...

Indeed there is a clear difference between Pink Floyd and Estella. RC must have a soft spot for PF...
Talking about varieties out of production is 'Jaguar' one of them or is it still available somewhere? That is one of the varieties I would so much like to own.

    Olet tervetullut, Lena!

Unfortunately, the elusive 'Jaguar' has been "out of production" and unavailable for many years. An eBay seller periodically lists bulbs under that name. However, to my eyes, they are not the true cultivar.
