i don't have any experience growing cane and rhizo begonias outdoors (lucky you!) other than in the summer months here, so i'm not sure how to grow them given your humidity/heat etc.

in florida you might try the link at bottom. i would think some larger-leaved rhizos such as 'Caribbean Corsair' (which they suggest for landscaping on their page) would look nice in your arrangement, but i don't know if it grows to 4'.

i hope that helped even a bit. i'm not the right one to be answering this! there are some growers here that are in similar climates that may have more to say.

A couple canes that would fit your color scheme and grow tall are Silvermist, which has lots of silver in the dark green foliage and lots of pale pink flowers, and Cracklin' Rosie, which has gorgeous burgundy foliage and hasn't bloomed for me. Doesn't need to with that foliage. I'm sure there are lots of others, but my brain is seriously out of commission.

Check your Lowes, if one is near. I found 2 different kinds of angelwings in the Rockledge Florida (Brevard county) Lowes. One is coral and labeled "Torchina". I think it will get to 3 feet or possibly 4 feet. The other is pink and is taller. I'm hoping that it will get to 4 feet. It's mis-labeled as "tuberous begonia".

Hi, In addition to the colors mentioned by Nancy, I'm looking for reds, corals, and whites. I'm in zone 9b (Melbourne Florida) and looking for begonias for a similar purpose - it's behind the patio enclosure and I'm looking for the "wow".
I have 2 angelwings, torch and an unknown pink. Thanks so much.

P.S. My color scheme is bright tropical colors. I have reds from salvia and hibiscus, peaches from hibiscus and brugs, yellows from African bush daisy. I can place the plant to get more or less sun. I was thinking very bright leaves to add to the tropical look. Also, white flowers or white on foliage will look great at night. Thanks
