water loving plants

I need help! I have a drainage field for a septic system and therefore have a wet spot in my yard. What kind of plants can I plant that will soak up a lot of water and still look attractive? I hesitate to plant any trees as I am afraid that the roots will clog the drain field pipes.

Any help would be greatly apprciated

Hey terrestrial_man,

Nice link. I'm glad more businesses are focusing on this now. Locally we've been trying to get more developers to include rain gardens in their plans, and are gradually winning converts as they see successful ones in action.

The key seems to be picking relatively agressive natives that can hold their own against invading weeds.
