I'm concerned about your mix of agave and annuals - the annuals need a lot of water, then agave hardly needs any. That's kinda of tough neighbors to have in one pot, I think your agave will suffer for it.

Thanks for the heads up pagancat - I thought since I was not deep watering the annuals the agave would be ok. I will keep an eye on it and if it starts looking punky, I will pull the annuals. Any recommendations for something with color that I can put around the agave?
