Compostion of Pinus (Pine) leaves

I am greatly in need of info. relating to the composition of the secondary leaves of the Pines. I am led to suspect that these leaves contain very little cellulose,but current literature on plant anatomy fails to disclose this. Any information will be much appreciated.

Suggest you post your question on the Conifers Forum where conifer expert 'pineresin' will see it. His depth of conifer knowlege is amazing.

They contain plenty of cellulose - like all plants, the cell walls are comprised largely of cellulose.

For more info, dig out a copy of Mirov's The Genus Pinus (1967) and go through chapter 5.

Sorry, Pineresin, but Mirov is almost thirty years out of date. I believe that the information I need might be found in a current text on plant histology. Thanks, tho, for your response
