You must have read my mind, Donn! I was just going to search for irrigation info for my ever expanding gardens. I recalled you talking about your setup and figured I would search for that first. Thanks for the info.

Thanks Donn, I forget about Lee Valley sometimes. I am wondering how this would work in a raised vegetable bed area? I mean how do you connect the hose through all the beds without draping it over the side of the beds?

Also, in our yard, we have a lot of silver maple trees in surrounding yards. These trees are notorious for the roots heading to the water provided. So, if you don't water the whole bed, and let's say you have a new shrub and just water the shrub, I would think this practice is going to attract tree roots to the root zone of the shrub. Plus if you only water plants and not the beds, then the trees that at least in our yard will often need water when it gets dry, won't get any. So I am torn about which way to provide water in my shade beds.

Drip is the deal. Seems I have to water a lot less when using drip irrigation.Plants are a lot happier too. I use blue stripe with emitters every 24 inches. Leave it on a few hours and the ground is soaked. I only need to invest in emitters for my hanging pots and nursery stock pots. Not enough time.

How are you going to set it up for containers PC?

I bought everything from DripWorks because I wanted a simple kit to start with. It works great. For some reason I haven't been able to find any parts at Home Depot so I had to put in a second order with Dripworks to expand my system. I figure I save about three hours every week when I'd otherwise be watering.
