Are you able to ID this cactus pad?

Hi! I took this pad from a prickly pear cactus by grandmas house, I want to plant it for consumption. The pad is soft with no thorns like the ones I have seen before. The reason to know its name is to be sure it can be use for consumption. Thank you so much for your help.
