Color is such a serious matter. I have to admit I pointed a few top growers to your post to ask how this was possible. 100% guessed correctly and said it was a hoax, but I so wanted to believe you. You're are not the only one growing blue amaryllis.

If you really want a blue flower try hydrangeas..you can grow them over there. All you need to get this color is acidic soil! : ))

I really like the effect of the second blue hippy picture. Its interesting to see the distribution of the colour. Kind of a good experiment to show how the capillary system works in the flower itself.

Rhiannon, there was no blue food color involved in the second bloom. It's a product of digital magic.
