Hi, what I meant by that is that there was a lot of traditional decorating going on in the 40s and 50s but it was flavored with the style and viewpoint of that time. If you look up images that fit that description and you'll see what I mean... Even if the style of furniture is, let's say, colonial, it would still have a trimness and flair you'd associate with mid-century. That general ideal was used in the design of the house... I'd say more as an inspiration, then very literally.
