Doug, is there a common name for the kind of cactus you're wanting?

I bought one yesterday at a nursery on north Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale, AZ

@glendalekid, just google Mammillaria Geminispina. The other part just means it has a cristate form; highly unspecific across the board but it's the cactus equivalent of "lost its leader". Kinda.

It has a LOT of variations.

jazzmataz, I'm not familiar with any nurseries on Scottsdale. Can you tell us the name of it? Thanks,

There is a very long term cactus nursery on Scottsdale Rd, Karen, it's called North Scottsdale Nursery and Cactus, although for many years it was called "Carefree Cactus Nursery" even though it was (is) in Scottsdale. It's on the east side of the street, well north of the loop 101, north of Happy Valley Rd and south of Jomax road. I'm not sure if that's where they got their cactus, but it's a large cactus-focused nursery. 25601 N. Scottsdale Rd. Happy gardening all!

That is a nice one! I didn't see it or I would have gotten it. I did get a few other more common things, plus a nice pot. Their small pot prices are better than most places. The large ones are about the same as other places.

I spoke to the woman who orders the plants at North Scottsdale Nursery. She said she could order one for you.
