Hi all. Well, my greenhouse is finally done! Yippee! its 8X16, with a 4500 CFM evap cooler for the summer. Im curious though: what % of shadecloth do you guys use? Ive seen options from 45-70%, and am inclined to go with the higher % version, but thought Id ask a few questions before I go on the mad hunt for shadecloth in the spring. Since Ive got a few months before I need to worry about it, I thought I'd try something unusual and actually ask before its too late...lol.
I only have experience growing succulents and cactus in a greenhouse. If this is what you are growing, you should get a shade cover that's 50%. This still provides bright light, but protects the little guys and the more sensitive ones. Most of the stuff at Home Depot and Lows is in the 70% range. I suspect, but donÂt really know, that the 70% is good for tropical stuff, starting vegetables, and flowers.
