Actually my husband uses Holly Tone for his rhododendrons each Spring. I guess I never gave it a thought as to whether or not amaryllis were acid loving plants or not. I usually just use one of the Osmocote pellets formulations with diluted Miracle Grow now and then when I water.

I also have a few bags of a Bulb Booster that I bought way back when we were planting lots of daffodils until we realized that they contained bone meal and that was the reason some skunk or racoon had dug most of the bulbs up right after planting and just left them on the ground..never used it again for outside plants.

I was thinking of putting some on my 20 or so evergreen hippies that continue to grow in my bay window. I don't know what the shelf life is of something like Bulb Booster but this stuff must be more than 10 years old...

Give it a shot on a few and see if it makes a difference. I would probably do it during active growth though.
