mini me

this is my favorate brug of all !!!!! its my baby so i may be a little one sided.lol lol its flower are super thick and holds up , even after it is picked the flower doesn't wilt for at last 24 hours in a glass of water on my kitchen table .

smaller leaves and slower growing habbits makes this a great patio plant. the plant i took this pic of , is 3.5ft tall and in a 2 gallon containor .

now the coolest part !!!! its almost a constant bloomer . it never really fluses out in tons of blooms at one time, like most blooms do . it has blooms on it almost every day . i lost count last year around 200 days in a row that my mother plant had blooms on it.

hope you enjoy the pic , will add more soon . happy gardening!!!!

Eddie sounds like it is a must have brug for zones that let you wait till it is way cooler and all buds drop.
Would it be good for TX heat and yes what is the name of this mini you

this brug was named after a friends of mines daughter from alabama . her nick name is mini me, because she looks and acts just like her mom.lol

I also think the mini's are cool. I originally was attracted to growing brugs because of the large blooms but I really have developed a soft spot for the little ones, even though I don't have any. Have you tried crosses on it to try to introduce some color?

I've seen this one blooming many times in Eddies greenhouse and in his fields and Mini Me is exactly as the pictures show. Absolutely adorable. And it always seems to have blooms. Not huge flushes, but always some blooms. Its one of my favorites. I'm still waiting on him to release it too >>> (tapping my foot impatiently)

Ok! Eddie, add me to the list
it's a cutie Mini me, like
    her name to Lol!

I do not believe that Eddie has ANYTHING ugly he could share with us.

That is why his postings are very addicting lol

That's really a cute little brug. What kind of scent does it have?

shawn it has been cross with several doubles , phanomena , phanonmenal , swingtime, summerset, pink smitty , and a few more i can not think of off hand . all of the seeds have been released to public .

daniellalell it has ok fragrance , please keep in mind i have had several nose surgeries and my since of smell is almost gone .

karma , the herritage was lost on this brug , sorry . i do not own a color chart . i have taken a few measurements from the edge of the shaft . the bloom itself is always under 1 inch .

jumpin4joy, here is that ugly brug pic you wanted . its called baby tears .
    {{gwi:443181}}

mini me has been around for maybe 4 years or so . it has been a nice one to watch and grow .

Mimi-me and Baby tears -- these are two separate ones, right? Eddie what a wonderful brug(s) to own!

eloise, yes 2 different ones . mini me is a single , and baby tears is a triple / double

WHAT! I do not think baby tears is ugly. In fact, I like it a lot.

Thanks Eddie for the added information and she appears a greenish color on the last shot, so tiny! She is a keeper for sure, now it appears you need to get busy getting cuttings as I see the list is long! Okay, I have missed Baby Tears . . . . requesting a post on this one, please!

karma , baby tears will never be released !!! its just not a brug i want my name on . in the winter it does really great and blooms away, but in the summer its a disater zone .
i did like the color, it does have a tad of green . i feel genetically this brug is not worth releasing.
it has had 3 years after the first bloom to prove itself . poor baby had its chance .

I don't think she's ugly. SHe doesn't do good in the heat you mean? Maybe she'd just make a good year-round houseplant then? With the AC on in the house, maybe she'd do better?
Can you tell I'm trying to save her from being culled?

    Eddie

They both look great! Nice job! 'Baby Tears' doesn't look bad at all! Cute! :) And 'Mini Me' is quite cute too!

    Mike

Eddie you are GREAT! Why? Because you could easily SELL the Baby tears just by the looks. But you make sure that it lives up to a Brugmansia qualities it should have ALL the time!

The more I get to know you Eddie, the more honored I am that you hang out with us.

    Lucy

It's a shame that Baby Tears didn't live up to your expectations because I haven't seen many small doubles. BTW I think it's cute. I have seeds from a Mini Me cross that someone (Kylie?) shared with me but I'm not sure if they've germinated yet or not.

Eddie, I totally understand and you are very wise in not sending it out for testing. I felt the same way with Jutner Peachy Cream but sent her out to test with a couple folks. Low and behold I found her on ebay when she was shared without a report from the tester. I will grow her here due to I know she is a heat lover like her mom, driveway only! She is cute and wishing you the best.

I do recommend getting the color charts from ABADS for many reason. One being that they are the Society and they are really helpful in IDing the colors if you are serious about what one does. That way you can take the chart out and hold it up against the plant to find the color.
