it was first year plant for me as well. Foliage is stunning but same as you I've yet to see blooms or even anything resembling a bud. I am thinking they are biennial and I am planning to bring some pots inside even if the plants are tall and bushy.
I finally managed to collect some seed from impatiens Jungle Gold- those have mechanisms even better than geranium- cranesbills...

Linda, what a great idea to overwinter it! I have huge pots that Starbuck's discarded so inside they. Since I first started this thread Park's has put HRS info back on the web and it says perennial Zones 10-11.

I spoke with a rep from Park's this morning and she says they are growing more seed for the spring catalog. What a relief. I want many more of this next year. She suggested overwintering with lots of light, perhaps even a plant light to supplement a south or west window. She also warned against humidity which I found strange because it's considered tropical.

I overwintered this successfully one year, still didn't bloom the following year. I don't mind not having bloomed, but I would like the seeds, & just don't have enough room to overwinter it every year.

I have grown it in North Florida (zone 8B) for the past two years. It took a long time before it bloomed, but it was so loaded with buds that once it started, it just kept going and going.

One was grown next to my house and survived the winter. The one shown in the picture was cut down to about 6 inches after a hard freeze. This spring it sprouted from the stump.

BTW, the trunk on this was about 4" in diameter!

Thanks! Yes,it was WS. I got the seeds at Parks after touring their trial gardens.
The main truck was broken early in the season, otherwise it would have been MUCH taller.
I have since moved away from the house, I have no idea how it looks now, nor can I grab any seeds :(
The seeds germinated well, I planted two in my yard and gave away several plants.
