Just a quick question, I've decided to winter sow using milk jugs and apple containers I've gotten from Costco but what i was wondering is... When do you transplant from the container after it's warmed up a bit or do you wait until their on the slightly larger size to give them a chance against slugs and what not?

I know the lupines will need to get transplanted nearly right way because of the root system but i'm just wondering how long do you wait after they've sprouted for all varieties of root systems..?
