Tokyomafia...I got it from JS.
Elizabeth...It does have some pollen. I just collect them and store them for now. I do not know how to pollinate a double flower. I cannot find any stigma to accept the pollen. Any ideas? I would definitely try to pollinate my single flowered ones with these pollens. As always, I'm always open to sharing these pollens...just email me.

I tried to pollinate several flowers with its pollen, but all the seed pods dried off. I don't know what the problem was. Hopefully you will be luckier... I don't know if Alfresco not sterile...

wow, i've pretty much marked everything off my wish list for this year except papilio and now this.

I got it from John Scheepers. It bloomed within 2 weeks of planting. I only made one photo session with it, but a few days later there were like 9 flowers blooming all together. It was a huge white fluffy mess. WOW. This was the most beautiful one so far this year. Though no matter what kind of flower I pollinated with its pollen, no seeds developed.
I used my living room as background. We often have video and photo sessions in the house, so I decided to pull orange over the background to accent the white flower.

i can't find these in stock anywhere, domestically. out of stock at both JS and white flower farm. oh well, i guess i'll have to wait until next season. also, are these considered "minis"?

Yes. Alfresco is condisered mini, and so far it had the hugest bloom for me this season. I mean huge. 6-8 inches across, fluffy flowers. It almost fell over several times. It was definitely not a mini for me. I'd call it a giant. Especially the third stake that emerged mile high.

Hadeco has it in it's Sonatini category. Something like medium flowering. For me, no matter what category it is, it sure is a winner! I have 8 fully opened white fluffy blooms now from 2 scapes. It is a sight to behold.

Just chiming in that I got 6 Alfresco bulbs from Amazon when they were on sale 6 for $26 from the Blooming Bud seller. They are weeks away from blooming but bulbs have amazingly strong root growth. Last week I put some in small Yogurt containers since I ran out of pots. In just a week, they rooted already when I finally got around to finding a real pot. They are all around 24 cm and most appear to have at least 1 pup.
