I've seen two heads (or partial heads) side-by-side, but that one looks like it has 5 or 6! Odd. I have a feeling it's going to be a year for things like that. As my Neos start blooming I'm seeing more than the usual number with deformed or distorted flowers. Extra or missing parts, all twisty and weird, etc. I blame global warming. Or volcanic ash. Or the economy. Or something.....

Wow, quite the vigorous flowering Neo. I'm still not sure how many heads it has but I'm guessing 4. I should be able to yank out the heads in about 3 months and count them.

When you pull out the heads check if the actual inflorescence is at fault or is it the stalk? In any event it rarely gets reported for species but often for hybrids suggesting inbreeding problems.

The compound inflorescence rules out the marmorata as the seed parent in Inca's pictured in this thread. Only one seed parent it could be.

And what seed parent would that be?
