Seed Mat

I was browsing through Ebay and ran across this seller's seed mats. They are pretty cheap and the S&H is reasonable. I've never bought from this person so I don't know if they are reliable or not but I know some people had mentioned that they were looking for seed mats and wanted to pass this along.

Here is a link that might be useful: seed mat

Thank you Karyn. We'll check it out!

He's only got one? Grrrrrrr. . .I'll step back - let someone else have it.

    Dweeb

He's only got one there- he has others!! wish he would give us the option of buying more than one at a time- like sell 3 @ a time! I have bid on item like that, sold three at a time, and I won two of the three items and the next bidder down won the last one of the three.

I have to wait til I get paid. Short work weeks with the holidays.

I e~d them and he said they could ship 10 in one box for $8.95 shipping and had 20 on hand and were expecting 250 more in a couple of weeks..

I feel much better, thanks. I thought that was a good price. The cheapest I'd seen that mat was $21. I wasn't looking for anymore seed mats but I took out my 10 flat mat today and realized that I have nowhere to put it until the damn GH is finished and I get some floor space back. I was looking at his plant markers. I have no idea if those are priced well or not.

I am drooling over the Park's biodome set up with the heat mat.

I'm sorry to say but that biodome is the biggest waste of money that I've ever seen. It costs almost nothing to make not including the seed mat. Make it yourself. Get a 4" high kitty litter pan, a plug tray and the plastic top of a large sheet cake container like they sell in the grocery store. If you ask at the bakery they'll probably give you one. Just cut a couple slits in the top for ventillation. You can fill the plug tray with soil, rock wool or any type of planting medium.

Hey, Karyn- I agree!! I can get really ingenious when retailers want lots of $$$$$ for things I need!

Just ordered a Park's two tray heat mat!

Thats a great idea Karyn. Thanks!

I like the biodome. They are like peat sponges (they squish just like a sponge) not peat pellets, rockwool, or anything else Ive tried. They really keep the seeds at a perfect moisture level to avoid rot. They are by far the best thing I've tried so far for brug seeds. You are right -they aren't cheap though but not a waste of money, this thing will last me for years I'd bet. Plus, I like the sliding vents on top too.

It sounds like their planting medium is similar to the stuff that B'cuzz Roxx and cubes are made from. I'd never seen it before and bought it a few months ago from NE hydro. It's pretty cool stuff. I've just used the little 1 cm cubes so far but they are working well. I put them in a styrofoam cup instead of soil. They hold moisture well without getting soggy. I haven't used the big 3" cubes yet.
