Almost certainly a cruenta (Rubra) hybrid, but I've never seen it before. Could be crossed with Royal Burgundy or any of a number of marmorates.

Its Neo. Zuleica a hybrid out of Brazil ..again someone taking credit for someone else's work by giving the plant a name and marketing it..............It is a cruenta X

I don't see a registered Neo Zuleica. Do you have this plant?

The plant was hybridized in Brazil and given a market name and being sold as one of their own probaly. Not registered as far as I know which is the sellers norm rarely do they register anything. Yes I have the plant and it gets huge.

Thanks, I'll let the guy who I got it from know what it might be. He prefers to sell plants with a name.

Nice plant !...That's interesting HDD say it gets huge??..cruenta rubra is not generally a large plant...wonder what else is in the mix to give it's size and marmoration?

Hi...looking good those cruenta! Great plants for full sun in my region.

I have re-labeled my previously tagged cruenta rubra to N. Monstrosus, after reading Derek Butcher's article on FCBS. IF & ONLY IF; 'they have silvery bands on both sides of the leaves.'

I forgot to mention that Zuleica, or whatever it is, has some pretty nice smelling flowers. They are not as strong as rubrovitatta but when you are crossing them you definately notice.

That's interesting about the smell. I've never been able to bloom rubrovittata so I didn't know it was fragrant. Some others that are are N. odorata, maculata and Marble Throat. I'm not seeing any of those in the bloodline here, though.

Seed pod seems to confirm cruenta parentage.
