Seeing more varities

I haven't posted much this winter. I have seen very few Gulf Frits, Monarchs this winter as on warm days in the past they would show up.

But now that we are having more consistent warm weather, they are showing up, just singles at a time but this weekend, I saw a Giant Swallowtail, a couple of Monarchs, a Gulf Frit, and three Sulphurs - Cloudless and Orange Barred. My Cassias have eggs on them. Late last week, I saw a dark colored butterfly - may have been a hairstreak of some sort.

I sure missed my butters this winter but I have had a male Rubythroated hummingbird take up residence in my yard since Jan. 10. Have also had 1, possibly two others visit from time to time. "Hummie" has been nectaring on my Purple Firespike, Coral Honeysuckle, and Cape Honeysuckle.

Hope everyone starts seeing more and more butterflies soon. Am anxious for my Polydamas, Pipevines, Eastern Blacks, Spicebush, and Zebra Longwings to come back.
